…working on Training and Communication
We have been involved in a wide range of Training and Communication activities since the Consultancy was established.
Recent examples of recent training and assessment activities include:
- Provide training leading to the RSPH Level 2 Certificate in pest control.
- Provide training leading to the RSPH Level 3 Certificate in Mosquito Management.
- Provide training to hotel managers on bedbug awareness and prevention.
- Run national training course on management of pest control contracts, for the NHS.
- Provide training to pest control staff on use of new pesticides.
- Involvement in the development and management of various examination and assessment schemes for pest control technicians in the UK and Ireland.
- Conduct survey of profiles of training delegates, to assist training and assessment.
Recent examples of wider communication and education work include:
- Write regular articles for various pest control trade journals on a very broad range of issues from grain pests, recruitment and retention of technicians, the bedbug increase, climate change and pests, to personal protective equipment.
- Have been on the Executive Committee of the International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP), since it was established in 1993.
- Chaired the 2008 European Society of Vector Ecology meeting in Cambridge.
- Feature on radio and TV as a spokesman on various pest-related issues.
